Suggestion
Please add a sidewalk along the railroad-track side of Potomac Avenue. It is extremely unsafe with all of the construction and trying to walk north. In 2018 with all of the construction from the new buildings it was not possible to walk north along Routh 1. The only way was to walk along Potomac Ave and there are no sidewalks. If more buildings will be constructed there needs to be a safe route for pedestrians to walk into Crystal City and access Metro.

In addition, is there any way to convert the old overpass over Four Mile River (adjacent to Potomac Ave) into a community garden? It is full of overgrown vegetation and has a lot of potential as a public space.

I live in the Camden Potomac Yards apartments and work in Crystal City and sometimes in DC.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Suggestion
I like and use the protected bicycle lanes in my neighborhood and am happy they are being expanded around the county. My only issue with them is how dIrt-y they get with trash and road debris. The full size street sweeper machines don’t clean the lanes because they won’t fit. I wish the county would invest in some smaller, skinny machines to clean inside the protected lanes. (PS, spelling out the word d i r t y isn’t allowed in these comments). :/

I strongly disagree with reducing the lanes from four to two on Wilson Boulevard.
1. Traffic is heavy on Wilson and if you reduce the lanes, it will be impossible to cross Wilson. If you add a light at Livingston (as some have suggested), it will encourage cut through traffic on Livingston Street and in the whole Boulevard Manor neighborhood.
2. I admit that it can be difficult for pedestrians to cross Wilson. It will be just as difficult for pedestrians to cross two lanes since there will be twice as much traffic. There are other pedestrian safety measures that can be implemented. (E.g. flashing crosswalk like the one on N. Harrison St. near Safeway and Harris Teeter.
Please do not decrease the number of lanes on Wilson. Thank you.

Suggestion
This temporary walkway is a smart idea. I would suggest it be painted with some kind of color to indicate it as a pedestrian area and not a bike lane or a car parking lane. That could make it more expensive to install and maintain. But the police parking enforcement folks will probably thank you for not adding to their headaches/workload!

Question
Never seen double buffered bike lane markings before. Might this add to driver confusion? Perhaps they need diagonal hatching as well. Makes for a heck of a lot of thermoplastic to maintain though! Just curious how much extra value it adds to the project.

Suggestion
If this these SB parking spaces are metered for less than 2 hrs, it would be good for this to be a PPBL instead.
But I also acknowledge that the many curb extensions might make this infeasible/too inefficient.
